You will learn our business during your training with our experts in Operations.If you are excited at the prospect of joining an award winning, high growth, technically relevant organization this may be the opportunity you.Key Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities:Review competitive pricing, negotiate purchase contracts with suppliers ensuring the most cost competitive price, quality, and deliveryNegotiate optimum pricing solutions and order policies, terms and conditions with suppliers and sub‑contractorsSurvey marketplace for alternate vendor quotes to ensure the competitiveness of existing vendors. Supply Chain Management (SCM) risk reduction – seeking alternate sources of supplyReview, evaluate, and monitor department purchase requisitions and planned requirements for proper authorizations, specificationsPrepare and issue purchase orders to suppliers and sub‑contractors on a daily basis for timely receipt of goods to meet customer/project requirementsProcurement of all direct/indirect spend to support RometAbility to negotiate contracts for the purchase of production machinery/equipmentManage all contract purchases, and manage MRP messages for cancellations, and re‑schedule delivery dates in and outExpedite open purchase orders for past due items and ensuring On‑Time Delivery (OTD) for all purchases utilizing the Open Purchase Order reportWorks with Engineering in support of new product introduction launches and prototype production buildsAct as Champion for ERP system enhancement in supply chain department. Coordinate with cross functions team for master data accuracyReview and update demand signals as required to ensure proper supply/demand elements are triggered in the MRP systemUses forecasting and negotiating skills to maintain supply of critical inventory items and implements supplier stocking programs where suitable and applicablePlan, review and manage current and future MRP requirements based on production needsWork closely with Master Production Scheduler to gain best understanding of forecast and production needs, and provide necessary support to production floorCommunicate supplier quality issues and rejections with appropriate vendorsCoordinate with Quality Assurance for FAI approval of new parts or new vendorsEvaluate, monitor, and manage suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery performancePrepare supplier and purchasing status reports, administration tasks, such as filing, etc.Maintain supplier and sub‑supplier relationships and strategic alliances to ensure continuous flow of materials throughout the supply chainContinuous management of Supply Chain Projects Matrix on network drivePrepare and analyze reports as neededReview/approve all invoices for payment (direct and indirect)All other duties as assignedSkills and Qualifications:Able to read the Engineering Drawings (e.g. GD&T) and validation plan (e.g. FAI Plan)Basic understanding of technical specification and manufacturing processesConsistently works on complex assignments requiring independent action and a high degree of initiative to resolve issuesAbility to work under pressure and meet frequent deadlinesA self‑starter with the ability to set and handle multiple prioritiesExcellent communications skills both written and oralMust be computer literate – Microsoft Office SuitePossess excellent organizational and analytical skillsEducational/Experience Requirements:Electronic or Mechanical Engineering Certificate/Diploma is a requirement5+ years Buyer experience in manufacturing environmentMinimum 5 years’ experience working with MRP/ERP system (Dynamics 365 Business Centralan asset)College Certificate/Diploma in Supply Chain procedures or related work experienceLean manufacturing training and experience considered an assetRomet Limited is an equal opportunity employer which values diversity and inclusivity in the workplace.
