Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Controller to oversee and manage all aspects of the financial operations within our manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and financial analysis to support key business decisions. This position will work closely with senior management and other departments to ensure the company’s financial health and compliance with all financial regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment.
  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Submit bank margin reports, grant reports and GST filings.
  • Analyze financial results, compare with budget, and provide insights and recommendations for improvements.
  • Analyze production and engineering costs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Work with the operations team to optimize inventory management and control overhead costs.
  • Ensure proper allocation and management of labor, materials, and factory overhead costs.
  • Prepare financial reporting packages and presentations.

Cash Flow Management:

  • Plan and manage cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity for day-to-day operations.
  • Oversee the accounts receivable and payable processes, ensuring timely collections and payments.
  • Report cashflow and financial KPIs weekly to leadership.

Budgeting & Forecasting:

  • Lead the budgeting process, including setting financial targets, cost forecasting, and cash flow projections.
  • Monitor budget vs. actual performance and analyze variances to identify cost-saving opportunities or performance gaps.
  • Assist in developing long-term financial planning strategies to support business growth.

Internal Controls & Compliance:

  • Maintain a system of internal controls to ensure the integrity and real-time accuracy of financial data.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, tax laws, and corporate policies.
  • Work closely with external accountants to facilitate the annual reporting process.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a financial management role, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing cost structures, inventory management, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills.
  • In-depth understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and tax regulations.
  • Ability to analyze complex financial data and present actionable insights.
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally with operational teams.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a high-performing finance team.
