Position Summary

Tourism Regina is looking for an enthusiastic individual who is excited about the opportunity to highlight and attract visitors to our wonderful city Through the creation of creative content, this individual will showcase what we love about our city, and people will be able to tell the story of why Regina is a great destination for events, business, or just to visit.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Create, monitor, and update content across various internal and external channels to support communication strategies and share the City of Regina's story.
  • Measure the effectiveness of messaging and campaigns through analytics reports.
  • Provide digital best practice guidance and training to client departments.
  • Ensure compliance with digital accessibility standards, leading training sessions as needed.
  • Coordinate and assist with special events and corporate projects.
  • Support media relations, including handling media requests, organizing events, and arranging interviews.
  • Prepare briefing notes, speeches, and other communication materials for City Council and Administration.
  • Design and manage digital assets, including emails, landing pages, and newsletters.
  • Actively create video and photography content, ensuring brand alignment.
  • Develop, manage, and optimize website content to ensure seamless user experience, integrating SEO best practices, accessibility standards, and engaging storytelling that aligns with our brand.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to create cohesive digital and social media content.
  • Monitor website performance and user analytics to refine content and enhance engagement.

Key Qualifications

  • Typically, the knowledge, skills and abilities required are obtained through completion of a degree or diploma in hospitality management, marketing, business, communications or a similar discipline, and three (3) to five (5) years' experience in event planning and activation, or an equitable combination of education and experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and customer service-focused.
  • Excellent writing skills with an emphasis on writing for web and social media.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines on time.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Highly driven and results-oriented.
  • Experience with social media platforms.
  • Familiarity with website management software, email solution providers and online survey platforms.
  • Knowledge in the development and creation of innovative, highly produced and organic content.
  • Knowledge of branding, social media, digital marketing trends, tools, and technologies.

WORKING / OTHER CONDITIONS:

  • Regular office environment.
  • Must have a Class 5 Drivers License.
  • Hours may vary based on operation requirements; works undefined hours and during events, will be required to work long hours often in the evenings and/or weekends.
  • Freedom of movement, walking, standing and is required to be physically mobile and walk long distances for extended periods while capturing content in multiple locations over multiple days all across the City and during events.
  • Attention to detail, visual, auditory and in concentration.
  • Computer work, reading, listening at meetings, as well as driving to/from off-site locations is required.
  • There may be some requirement to attend off-site meetings, conferences or industry events.
  • Position will be required to manage, and actively participate in event logistics, including the set-up and take down of event materials which requires lifting upwards of 50lbs.

  • Proof of education is required.
  • Additional assessments may be conducted to evaluate competencies, skills, and knowledge.
