Job Summary The echocardiography sonographer is responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures/examinations and related duties, working in collaboration with cardiologists, physicians and other health care professionals. Job Details Job Number: J0425-0157 Job Title: Echo Sonographer Job Type: Casual Location: Alliston Job Category: Diagnostic Imaging Number Of Open Positions: 1 Department: Diagnostic Imaging Salary: $38.46 - $51.16 FTE: 0.25 Responsibilities Perform ultrasound imaging procedures spanning all applicable modalities: transthoracic echocardiogram (TTE), bubble studies & Definity contrast. Operate ultrasound/ancillary equipment and instruments, while ensuring they are performing efficiently and effectively. Prepare written and electronic reports required to document all procedures and test results. Perform patient‑handling responsibilities to facilitate optimal care for patients of all ages and abilities. Collaborate with hospital units across all sub‑specialties to provide timely diagnostics, prioritizing according to physician input and urgency. Work in a safe manner and promote health and safety in the workplace. Adhere to departmental and legislated health and safety standards. Communicate issues and concerns to the Manager/Director. Attend and participate in staff meetings. Attend and complete hospital/team training. Assist in the orientation/preceptorship of new staff members and students. Perform other duties consistent with the job classification, as required. Requirements Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography diploma from an accredited program. Active membership with Sonography Canada or the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS). Member in good standing with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO). Current BCLS. Two (2) years recent and relevant experience. Successful completion of IV contrast media injection course/experience required. Skills/Abilities Demonstrates ability to utilize sonography and hospital software systems.
