Northern Health is seeking a champion with significant management and leadership experience to join usIn accordance with the vision, mission, values and strategic priorities of Northern Health, the Director, HIM leads a team responsible for delivering Health Information Management (HIM) to the organization, which includes functions such as registration, release of information, records management and processing, health informatics and information management (HIIM) services and business process redesign. The Director leads changes as needed to ensure that HIM functions in Northern Health are delivered in a manner that supports integrated care and high-quality service delivery. Key accountabilities also include leading complex projects and quality improvement initiatives, managing high level stakeholder relationships and managing contractual arrangements related to HIM services. The position is a health informatics leader, advancing healthcare transformation within a framework of people, processes, and technology to improve healthcare services.Starting salary will be approximately from $116,591 to $145,739 and will be based on education, training, experience, and salaries of similar positions.Comprehensive benefit packages including extended health/dental and a municipal pension plan for part-time and full-time employees. Casuals have the option of paying for benefits.Employer-paid training and leadership development opportunities Spectacular outdoor activities and the shortest commutes in BC “Loan Forgiveness Programs” are offered through the Federal and BC Government for eligible professions.Bachelor’s degree in health information science or a related discipline plus a minimum of 10 years of progressively more responsible information management experience in a health care environment or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.Demonstrated ability to lead change and build and manage teams.Demonstrated organizational and planning skills.Demonstrated ability to establish and manage relationships with strategic partners and solution providers.Strong understanding of health care and the care process as it relates to records management and the electronic health record.Demonstrated project management experience with multi-faceted projects and stringent timelines.Proven team player, contributes to team goals, encourages and supports team members and ability to work effectively in a virtual team environment.In-depth understanding of health services and record management operations.Northern Health covers an area of nearly 600,000 square kilometers and offers health services in over two dozen communities and 55 First Nation’s communities.
