The successful candidate is someone who is Guest Obsessed and has a passion for the outdoors. The Retail Associate will use our POS system to process sales, ensure the store is well stocked and visually appealing to our guests and actively engage with our guests to drive sales targets.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSSales and Customer Service:Generate sales through guest engagement and determining customer needsDrive sales through recommending customized solutions and maintaining industry product knowledgeAchieve and exceed sales targetsProcess and cashier transactions using store POS software and equipmentMaintain current and in-depth knowledge of mountain services, promotions and policiesParticipate in ongoing training and coaching initiativesStore Operations:Perform operational activities including; receiving and ticketing stock, inventory maintenance, store merchandising and store housekeepingConduct daily store operations and other related duties as assigned by managementProvide assistance to management during sales events, staff purchase nights and inventory countIf required, performing Key-holder responsibilities including Open/Close procedures on a rotational basis, with accountability for banking and securityStore Standards:Ensure high standards of Visual Merchandising and cleanliness are maintainedMaintain a professional and well-presented persona suitable for the Tourism industrySUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESThis position reports directly to the Assistant Manager, Retail and does not require any direct supervisory responsibilities.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIESAvailability to work regular 6-8 hour shifts within store hours of 9am to 10pm most daysSuccessful completion of secondary schoolPrevious sales experience with emphasis on customer serviceProven sales and customer service skillsAbility to communicate well in EnglishNon-Residents must provide unrestricted Canadian Work PermitThe successful candidate will:Show a strong focus on the customer, teamwork, accountability and innovationHas an entrepreneurial attitude and hunger to drive sales resultsIs comfortable working autonomously with little supervision in a fast-paced environmentCarries the professionalism to receive vocational feedback and take action when appropriateIs energetic, friendly, confident and outgoing with a positive attitudeHas excellent organizational skills with basic ability in Microsoft Office suiteExperience in outdoor equipment sales an assetWORKING CONDITIONSHours of Operation are weather dependant. Due to the nature of the business, this position requires flexibility in terms of your work schedule. A variety of work schedules may include a variety of start times, including shifts on weekends and statutory holidays.
