Cold Lake School is a Kindergarten to Grade 8 School with approximately 20 students, a teaching principal, classroom teacher and three support staff members working in multi-age classrooms. The school is located in the picturesque community of Sherridon, which is road accessible and is approximately 100 km from Cranberry Portage and 120 km from Flin Flon, a full-service community.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Education degree and valid Manitoba Teacher’s Certificate (or eligibility for)
  • Master’s Degree in Education and/or Certificate in School Leadership would be an asset.
  • Previous teaching experience including experience in multi-graded classrooms.
  • Previous administrative experience would be an asset.
  • Excellent understanding of current Manitoba Curricula and differentiated instruction.
  • Experience with integrating Indigenous culture and land-based teaching into curriculum.
  • Proficiency in a variety of computer applications in a network environment and experience with and understanding of school-based technology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with parents and the community and foster parental involvement.
  • Previous success with the development and implementation of short and long-term school-based plans.
  • Experience leading innovative and alternative program delivery methods for students.
  • Keen ability to identify and creatively solve problems.
  • Capacity to work in and respond to a demanding, fast-paced school environment.
