1 week ago – Be among the first 25 applicants Job Description As a Machine Maintenance Specialist, you will ensure optimal performance of manufacturing equipment and machinery. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will use mechanical knowledge, troubleshooting skills, and experience with sensors, robotics, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems to perform routine maintenance and repairs following diagrams, operation manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications. Your core skills include blueprint reading, machining, and proficiency in PLCs. Strong communication and teamwork are essential to uphold quality control and enhance operational efficiency in a fast‑paced environment. As a senior mechanic, you will assist the leadership team. Job Responsibilities & Requirements Pay $34.00 per hour (start of employment) Work Schedule Dayshift: 6:00 am – 4:30 pm, Monday–Thursday. Occasional Fridays as needed. Afternoon shift (4:00 pm – 2:30 am) during peak season. Transition back to day shift if required. Primary Responsibilities Install, maintain, and repair manufacturing and packaging equipment. Demonstrate excellent troubleshooting skills to resolve equipment breakdowns and implement performance improvements. Support quality investigations. Work well in a team environment. Maintain awareness and expertise in production equipment design, optimization, and maintenance. Perform routine preventive maintenance checks on all production equipment and machinery. Repair basic mechanical components and replace parts on machines such as bearings, filters, wiring, valves, gauges, and switches. Document and track changeover times and records. Follow all safety rules and procedures including Lockout/Tagout, housekeeping, and 5S standards, and ensure a safe work environment. Execute preventative maintenance. Perform other related duties as assigned. Basic Qualifications 6–10 years of experience as a mechanic or die setter in industrial manufacturing (e.g., Pharma, Automotive, Food, Healthcare, Beverage). Preferred experience in a leadership/supervisory role such as mechanic lead hand or shift supervisor. Strong preference for candidates with lean manufacturing, vendor, or supply‑chain experience. Experience with automated production processes and related equipment including robotics. Experience with equipment set‑up and fine adjustments for optimized operation. Good oral and written communication skills and documentation of work. Strong technical problem‑solving skills, especially with automation controls and sensors. Self‑managed team player adept at working in a production environment. Proven technical competency in equipment optimization and maintenance. Experience analyzing and improving maintenance plans and procedures. Experience with part lists for ordering parts and interacting with machine shops and vendors. Good leadership skills and ability to work independently. Mechanical background or training to support application. Preferred Qualifications Experience in a manufacturing environment (pharmaceutical/automotive). Extensive stamping press knowledge (advantage). Experience maintaining and servicing packaging and stamping press equipment. Strong root‑cause and trouble‑shooting skills. Experience maintaining die presses within a manufacturing environment or equivalent. 443A certification and/or millwright certificate preferred. Robotics and PLC knowledge as assets. Machine shop and fabrication skills as assets.
