SOCOTEC UK is Disability Confident accredited.The role sits within SOCOTEC Advisory, where you will have the opportunity to vary your workload and explore areas such as Advisory and Expert Witness work.ResponsibilitiesProviding high-quality quantity surveying services to clientsEstablishing client requirements for cost planningManaging risk, value engineering and cost control measuresAdvising on procurement strategiesPreparing tender packages and contracts, including bills of quantitiesAnalysing tender appraisals and identifying risk areasEnsuring projects remain within budget and on track financiallyPreparing budget and progress reports, including cost value reconciliationsIdentifying and responding to commercial risks and assessing cost variationsIssuing notices in accordance with the contract conditionsAdvising on contractual issues and claimsPreparing and negotiating final accountsAttending and leading project meetingsKeeping up to date with industry requirements and developmentsMentoring junior staff and contributing to internal trainingPromoting the company and our services in the industryEssentialEducated to a degree level in Quantity Surveying6+ years Quantity Surveying experienceStrong skills in Microsoft Excel and WordStrong numerical and data analysis skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAttention to detail and strong interpersonal skillsPositive approach to client care and problem solvingAbility to work alongside Expert Witness and Advisory teamsDesirableMembership of the RICS or working towards membershipKnowledge of NEC contractsExperience using CostX softwareExperience in the rail and aviation sectorsAbout AdvisoryOur experienced team of industry professionals come from diverse backgrounds, experiences and expertise.
