Willingness to collaboratively plan units of inquiry to be taught through a guided inquiry approach. Demonstrated ability and experience to teach, assess, and plan an intermediate program. Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaborative skills and proven ability, commitment, and drive to work cooperatively and effectively with other educators in a collegial team setting. Familiarity with a Universal Design for Learning approach and a deep commitment to providing the supports and encouragement for all students to be successful. Knowledge and experience in adapting learning objectives and strategies to meet the needs of English Language Learners at varying levels. Experience and clear understanding of social and emotional learning and self-regulation. Knowledge and proven experience in the area of technology, including the ability to integrate various technologies into the curriculum, modes of assessment, and adapting curriculum. Ability to use formative assessment practices to improve student achievement with emphasis on the BC Curriculum and web-based platforms. Effective classroom management skills that are student-centered and focus on relationships and authentic connections. Strong commitment to positive and consistent engagement and communication with parents and other stakeholders.
