Reporting to the Director Medicine, Post Acute and Access & Flow, the successful individual will be accountable for the delivery of a positive patient experience, patient flow, people management, risk management and safety, and the provision of high quality care. This role is ideally suited to an individual with strong clinical knowledge and leadership skills who will promote the delivery of safe, quality patient care, facilitate staff development, and maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of the teams and units. The Manager is accountable for planning, implementing and integrating plans that are in alignment with the Medicine Program’s goals and objectives that align with Joseph Brant Hospital’s vision and strategic directions.The management, operation and organizational effectiveness of the medicine inpatient units, including managing all aspects of human and financial resources.Supporting staff in problem solving and decision making by ensuring administrative policies and procedures are followed.Ensuring excellence in patient care through continuous quality improvement processes that include planning, quality monitoring and risk avoidance.Facilitating the use of feedback strategies to maintain and improve performance of team members.Fostering effective employee and labour relations through knowledgeable interpretation and implementation of hospital policies and collective agreements.Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario or other regulated Health Professional College.Completed Master’s degree or current registration in a Graduate program required (e.g. li>A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a leadership and/or management position required.Experience in ALC Avoidance Management required.Evidence of knowledge of, and experience with, Quality, the use and interpretation of metrics, and change management methodology required.Demonstrates excellence in interpersonal communication, coaching, mentoring and team building skills.Excellent interpersonal, communication skills, organizational and time management skills.Demonstrated experience in monitoring and managing a clinical budget, financial reporting and analysis.Joseph Brant Hospital is committed to an equitable and inclusive culture where everyone thrives and feels that they belong.
