Azure Data Engineer

Overview We are hiring an Azure Data Engineer to help our clients derive meaningful business insights from large, complex datasets. The role will be 100% remote in Canada, requiring US time‑zone work hours and speaking English. Key Activities for this Role Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines using Azure, Databricks, and Fabric data services. Set up, design, and build CI/CD pipelines using DevOps or GitHub. Configure and optimize data science services in Fabric and Azure Databricks. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of data services. Unit test, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to data pipelines and services. Demo completed work with the client team. Follow team best practices and patterns. Collaborate and coordinate with the onshore team. Key Qualities Strong knowledge of Azure, Databricks, and Fabric data services. Experience with CI/CD deployment automation using DevOps or GitHub. Familiarity with Azure Data Factory and other data integration tools. Strong communication and collaboration skills for internal and external clients. Strong work ethic and detail‑oriented. Critical & creative thinking. Self‑motivated and able to work effectively with limited oversight. Goal‑oriented team player committed to quality. Strong organization and time‑management skills. Focused and committed to delivering on assignments and meeting deadlines. Experience & Skills Required 3–5 years of experience designing, developing, and deploying Microsoft data solutions. PySpark, SQL, Python, ETL are must‑have skills. Familiarity with CI/CD deployment automation using Azure DevOps and Git. Proficiency in PySpark and data science methodologies. Strong knowledge of Azure and Fabric data platform services, including Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, Azure storage services, and Azure Data Lake Storage. Experience with T‑SQL programming, including designing and creating SQL Server stored procedures and views. Strong verbal and written English skills. Knowledge of unit testing methods and techniques. Knowledge of Data Vault data modeling methodology would be good to have. Desired Qualifications Microsoft Cloud Certifications (a definite plus). Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a related field. Knowledge of machine learning and AI frameworks.
