What’s it like working as a Manager, Journey Finance Support at Community Trust Company?

The Manager, Journey Finance Support partners closely with CTC and Questrade journey leaders and management as the finance support to the designated Journey, supporting business priorities, understanding business performance and proposing actions to drive Journey/line of business/product performance to deliver value.

Priorities include monthly and quarterly Journey performance reporting, development of product/journey level financial statements and performance measurement frameworks, forecasting, stress testing, business case development and assessing opportunities, and managing business relationships within CTC and across Questrade.

The Manager, Journey Finance Support works collaboratively with other finance, strategy, and other colleagues in support of the Journey. This Manager will execute change and improvement across people, process, technology, and data to support efficiency and enhance the value-add of the function. strong>

  • Establishing and maintaining strong working relationships across Journey stakeholders to help facilitate the coordination of various planning, analytical and systems activities.
  • Preparing and delivering financial and performance reporting for the designated Journey.
  • Developing a deep understanding of business performance, sharing insights and engagement with management to suggest actions and drive performance.
  • Planning and managing regular and ad hoc reporting and the financial analysis function for the Journey.
  • Collaborating with the FP&A function(s) to develop a forward-looking perspective of business performance and capital adequacy, including rolling forecasts and scenarios and proposing opportunities for improvement and actions.
  • Assisting in the development, monitoring and reporting for business cases for the Journey.
  • Collaborating with the FP&A function(s) to prepare the annual budget and 5 year financial plans, including capital plans for the Journey (requiring partnership across Questrade, treasury and risk).
  • Partnering with the Questrade and CTC finance functions to support the execution of the finance modernization projects.

  • Have Post-secondary education in a business related field
  • Hold a CPA / CFA designation.
  • Have 5+ years of experience in regulated financial services, 2+ years in a DTI
  • Have experience with financial modeling specific to DTIs, data structuring and reporting tools
  • Have management-level communication and collaboration skills with ability to clearly articulate complex technical/analytical or conceptual information
  • Are comfortable with ambiguity and asking why
  • Are a creative problem solver
  • Possess keen attention to detail, curiosity and ability to go deeper when required
  • Are positive with a can-do attitude
  • Are a team player who motivates others to achieve group success
  • Are comfortable with a dynamic, fast-paced environment and able to navigate through organizational change
