Servus is growing We are currently looking for a Network Analyst in our Data Technology and Infrastructure department in Edmonton, Alberta.

Reporting to the Manager of Infrastructure Services, the scope of your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Network Administration & Support

  1. Configure, manage, and optimize WAN/LAN/SD-WAN infrastructure
  2. Provide technical support for network incidents, including troubleshooting firewalls, routers, switches, wireless controllers, and VPN configurations
  3. Conduct root cause analysis on recurring issues and implement preventive solutions
  4. Maintain network monitoring tools to ensure uptime and performance (e.g., SolarWinds, Wireshark)

Network Security & Compliance

  1. Implement and manage firewall rules, VPNs, and network access controls
  2. Support cloud networking within Microsoft Azure and hybrid cloud environments
  3. Ensure compliance with security best practices, policies, and risk management processes
  4. Assist in incident response and security audits

Network Design & Optimization

  1. Participate in the design, documentation, and deployment of scalable network solutions
  2. Support enterprise networking projects involving Cisco (Catalyst/Nexus), Palo Alto, SDWAN and F5 Load Balancers
  3. Implement and optimize BGP, OSPF, VRF, VLAN, and QoS configurations
  4. Assist with disaster recovery planning and network redundancy strategies

Collaboration & Documentation

  1. Work with IT Security, business teams, and external vendors on technical implementations
  2. Maintain up-to-date network documentation, including configurations and topology diagrams
  3. Provide input on network capacity planning and infrastructure improvements

Requirements

  1. 5-8 years of experience in network engineering or administration in a corporate environment
  2. Experience with Cisco routers & switches (Catalyst, Nexus, ASR), SDWAN Viptela or Meraki, Palo Alto firewalls, and F5 load balancers
  3. Strong understanding of network security protocols (IPsec, SSL, NAT/PAT, VPN)
  4. Experience troubleshooting Layer 2/3 protocols (ARP, BGP, OSPF, VRRP, STP)
  5. Knowledge of cloud networking (Azure, AWS) and hybrid infrastructure
  6. Experience with PowerShell or automation scripting for network administration is a plus
  7. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  8. Cisco CCNP (preferred) or CCNA with strong hands-on experience
