Work environmentThe RCMP's National Radio Support Section strives to meet the needs of our regional IT workshops as they work to ensure reliable, secure radio dispatch communications serving our Officers serving Canadians in the field. Focused on ensuring swift execution of activities related to radio program procurement, equipment configuration and employment, security measures and processes, material accountability, and precise communication of technical and operational requirements, our Section's technical experts work with engineers, management, technicians, security practitioners, contracting authorities, finance officers and administrators in a fast-paced, high-pressure, non-routine office environment.
Our team is currently working under a hybrid work schedule. The selected candidate will be required to report to the workplace, at 1200 Vanier Pkwy., 3 days per week. Virtual employment will not be considered.
Intent of the processThe immediate need is to staff one position on an indeterminate basis, with a linguistic profile of English Essential and a Top Secret security clearance.

Information you must provideIn order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)EDUCATION: Graduation from a two-year program of study from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed OR an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience may serve as an alternative to the minimum education stated above.
EXPERIENCE: Experience conducting business analysis within an IM or IT environment.
Experience in mobile data communications, including wireless systems.
Experience in developing Statements of Work.
Experience in communication site equipment procurement, installation or maintenance.
KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of Wireless Communications Systems.
Knowledge of the theories and principles of equipment life cycle management.
Knowledge of Government procurement practices and procedures.
ABILITIES AND SKILLS:
Ability to communicate effectively in writing.
Ability to communicate effectively orally.
Ability to analyze problems and recommend appropriate action.
Ability to quickly derive the meaning from complex contractual wordings.
Ability to plan and organize workload.
