Position Overview The Northern Health Region is seeking a 0.8 FTE Obstetrician/Gynecologist to practice in Thompson, Manitoba. About the Region The Northern Health Region is the largest of Manitoba's five Regional Health Authorities, with a population of 72,000 spread over 396,000 km², resulting in a low population density. The region's major industries include mining, hydro-electric development, forestry, fishing, trapping, transportation, and tourism. Qualifications Must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Manitoba. Royal College Certification is preferred. Practice Ready Assessment Specialty (PRA-SP) eligible candidates with provisional registration from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba may be considered (letter of eligibility required with application). Compensation and Benefits Generous remuneration with guaranteed income through alternative funding as per the Doctor's Manitoba Collective Agreement. Practice Location This position is based at the Thompson General Hospital and Northern Consultation Clinic in Thompson, Manitoba. Thompson, known as the “Hub of the North,” is located 740 km north of Winnipeg and serves as the regional trade and service center of Northern Manitoba. It has a population of approximately 15,000 residents and offers urban amenities along with access to lakes and Boreal Forest.
