OverviewAs an Industrial Electrician at IPEX, you’ll play a critical role in keeping our production operations running smoothly and efficiently. Your expertise will ensure that machines and equipment are maintained to the highest standards, supporting both production goals and manufacturer specifications. Beyond preventive and production maintenance, you’ll be a key problem‑solver—troubleshooting issues to minimize downtime and maintain quality output. You’ll join a collaborative maintenance team that values safety, innovation, and continuous improvement, and you’ll have opportunities for professional growth through ongoing training and career development within the organization.Location11 Bermondsey Rd, East York, ON M4B 1Z3Salary Range$40.65 - $55.74 per hour (dependent on experience)Key ResponsibilitiesDiagnose and troubleshoot injection mold machines, hot oil units, thermolators, dryers, mixers, grinders, overhead cranes, hydraulic systems, electrical controls, lighting systems, and other production equipment.Inspect, maintain, install, and repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, feeders, cable assemblies, light fixtures, and related components.Test and repair industrial electrical and electronic control systems, PLCs, and electronic devices.Perform preventive maintenance, including continuity checks, heater band inspections, and refurbishing PLC cards.Collaborate and learn on troubleshooting hydraulics, pneumatics, servo drives, and electrical systems.Ensure safe and efficient operation of machinery and processes.Identify root causes of equipment issues and implement effective solutions.Perform routine tasks such as replacing filters, lubricating equipment, and inspecting for leaks or damage.Fabricate and modify equipment (e.g., conveyors, guards) as needed.Plan and execute work from blueprints, sketches, or verbal instructions.Contribute to efficiency improvements and cost‑reduction initiatives.RequirementsValid Canadian Electrician certification (309A, 442A, or Red Seal).Dual‑ticket certification (Industrial Electrician + Industrial Mechanic/Millwright) is a strong asset.5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.Hands‑on experience with mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.Knowledge of injection molding equipment is an advantage.Mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues in a manufacturing environment.Ability to work a 12‑hour continental shift schedule.Commitment to safety and continuous learning—successful candidates will complete forklift, scissor lift, crane, and Routsis training.Why Join UsCompetitive compensation and benefits.Annual performance bonus.Paid training, skills upgrade, and advancement opportunities.Tools, uniforms (with cleaning service), and PPE provided.Annual tool and safety shoe allowances.Opportunities for growth, including advanced technical training and career progression.Work with cutting‑edge technology in a dynamic manufacturing environment.Working ConditionsThe incumbent spends almost 100% of time in the plant environment requiring varying degrees of moderate physical labour. The majority of work includes lifting, pulling, pushing heavy objects (20‑50 lbs.), standing and walking. Personal safety is affected by exposure to heat, dust, noise levels, and use of equipment such as sharp blades and presses. Moderate sensory attention is required. Limited control of work pace and predictable workflow bring moderate amounts of stress to this position.
