Over the past few years it has grown into a shopping centre with 1 national chain grocery store and fast‑food on the mall pad. It’s a known destination for shopping serving communities as far as 150 km away. Exploits Valley Mall offers over 35 stores and services, including national brand name fashion boutiques, fine jewellery, sporting goods, home fashion and great dining options. Position Details Position: Casual Security Guard Site: Exploits Valley Mall Overtime: Overtime after 48 hours Hours: As required Payrate: $19.00/hour Posting Date: October 2, 2025 Internal Closing Date: October 24, 2025 External Closing Date: October 24, 2025 Schedule Example As needed Key Responsibilities Patrol Mall Grounds: Conduct regular rounds of the premises, including parking areas, hallways, entrances, and exits, to ensure safety and security. Monitor Surveillance Systems: Operate security cameras and alarm systems, reporting suspicious activity immediately. Access Control: Monitor and control entry points, ensuring only authorized individuals enter restricted areas. Respond to Emergencies: Act quickly in medical emergencies, fire alarms, or security threats and assist staff during crises and evacuations. Provide Customer Service: Greet and assist visitors, patients, and staff, providing directions and ensuring adherence to policies. Conflict Resolution: De‑escalate tense situations, resolve conflicts, and maintain professional interactions. Report Writing: Document daily activities, incidents, or accidents accurately, completing reports on security concerns. Collaboration with Mall Staff: Work closely with staff and local law enforcement for coordinated security efforts. Enforce Mall Policies: Ensure visitor and patient protocols are followed, addressing violations in line with safety standards. Prerequisites Valid Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check Valid First Aid & CPR – Level C (from a CSA‑approved vendor) Class 5 Driver Licence and willingness to work shifts at sites within reasonable driving distance English (oral and written) fluency Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or related field preferred Certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) Applicants lacking these certifications may opt into Paladin’s UOF/MOAB training program prior to onboarding UOF/MOAB training is free, covered by Paladin, with a 6‑month commitment to the position Why Choose Paladin?
