Job Description You are an authentic and genuine individual, guided by our culture and mission. You are the face of the store and curate a welcoming, caring experience for our customers while sparking inspiration through reading. As a Customer Experience Representative (CER), you are part of a diverse team that encourages kindness, care, and joy every day, especially during the busy holiday season. WHAT YOU’LL DO Create a welcoming and caring environment in our store Add joy to our customers' lives Leverage our product to tell stories Engage and connect with our customers on the floor Curate specific product collections for each customer you meet Ensure visual standards are followed and maintained Role‑model Indigo’s high‑performance characteristics Seek information regarding new products, promotions and programs Contribute to an environment where everyone knows that health and safety is a top priority and actively participates in achieving it for staff and customers Own accountability to ensure customer feedback is responded to promptly Hold self and others accountable Own self‑development and provide continuous feedback to colleagues and leadership Share ideas with leadership on how to improve employee and customer experience WHO YOU ARE (AKA OUR DREAM TEAM PLAYER) A customer‑service superstar with at least one year of making people smile (experience preferred, enthusiasm required) A cash‑handling wizard who can make registers sing (one year of experience preferred) A cool cucumber who thrives in the hustle and bustle of our busiest days A chameleon who loves to learn and can adapt faster than the word “bestseller” can be read A customer‑service Jedi who can wave their hand and make problems disappear A weight‑lifting champion (we’ll supply the cape, you just need to lift up to 40 pounds safely) A time‑bending wizard with at least 25 hours a week to spare, including evenings and weekends A schedule juggler extraordinaire, ready to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and even those early mornings some people call “mysterious” Bonus points if you can recite the alphabet backwards while gift‑wrapping a book with one hand (just kidding, but we love a good party trick).
