Hardware Design Reliability Engineer

North York, Ontario

Position Summary

Responsible for the hardware reliability activities regarding the hardware products within Engineering perimeter.

Essential Functions / Key Areas of Responsibility
  1. Monitor the hardware reliability of the hardware systems in the field.
  2. Maintain a table with all the hardware returns from the field and the reason for the returns.
  3. Prepare and run the monthly meeting of the Failure Review Board.
  4. Review and maintain the Reliability monitoring process.
  5. Conduct root cause analyses of failed hardware as required by stakeholders.
  6. Work closely with the groups in HEM Engineering to coordinate the activities related to the root cause analyses and reliability monitoring.
Minimum Requirements: Skills and Abilities:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering.
  • 10+ years of Electronics Design and troubleshooting experience.
  • Cabling.
  • Grounding techniques.
  • Surge Protection.
  • Excellent Knowledge of the Electrical Engineering Principles.
  • Power circuits design.
  • Analog and Digital Electronic circuits including Microprocessors.
  • Telecommunications circuits.
  • Engineering tools.
  • CAD system (Autocad Electrical).
  • Multi-meter.
  • Oscilloscope.
  • Protocol Analyzers.
