Join to apply for the Quality Engineering Co-Op role at Interpro Pipe & Steel. We are looking for a student to join our Quality department at the Red Deer manufacturing facility. The position will be for 4 or 8 months, starting in the January term. Job Summary As a member of the Process Control group, you will work on specialized testing projects, review process data, and identify non-conforming conditions. You will use statistical process control, data analysis, and exposure to mechanical and metallographic testing in all aspects of pipe manufacturing, including forming, welding, heat treatment, and threading. Job Responsibilities Review process data to identify non-conforming conditions (75%) – evaluate data, coordinate with the QA department, and report KPIs. Specialized testing program coordination (20%) – manage collapse testing at the Red Deer facility. Trial support (5%) – onsite data collection, answer questions, and conduct process analyses. Education and Experience Enrolled in a recognized engineering program at a Canadian university with at least one year of study completed. Preference for Materials Science or Mechanical Engineering programs. Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies Knowledge of engineering principles, statics, and strength of materials. Previous exposure to steel manufacturing and testing processes is a bonus. Detail-oriented with strong MS Office skills. Excellent written and verbal communication. Self-starter with a passion for improvement. Good organizational skills and commitment to safety. Work Environment and Physical Requirements Typical office environment with exposure to high heat, chemicals, and moving mechanical parts. Light work: up to 20 lbs occasionally or 10 lbs frequently.
