This role is integral to ensuring that multi-disciplinary systems—including signaling, communications, traction power, SCADA, and control center infrastructure—are fully coordinated, verified, and integrated across the full engineering lifecycle. Facilitate resolution of customer expectations versus technical issuesProvide valuable leadership to junior staff and mentoring to develop their technical skillsWork with tight schedules, be flexible, control project budgets, and motivate junior staffPlan and execute project work, based on an understanding of the project scope, schedule, and budgetProposal and Project assignments may include Commuter, Subway, Light Rail, Heavy Rail, Transit Storage and Maintenance Facilitates, Transit TunnelsWhat you’ll bring to WSP:Bachelor’s degree or higher in a Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline from an accredited UniversityRegistered as an Engineer in Training (EIT) or P.Eng. LicenseINCOSE Certification such as ASEP or CSEP would be an assetMinimum of 8 years of experience in transit or safety-critical industry or related engineering fieldMinimum of 5 years of experience in Systems Engineering domain is preferredMust have strong knowledge and understanding of Systems Engineering process and principlesPrevious experience in Systems Integration for complex Rail & Transit project is an assetProven ability to work successfully in multi-disciplinary teams and across different business unitsExperience in a Consulting Engineering environment is an assetProficiency in systems lifecycle management, including V-model, interface definition, and testing alignmentStrong familiarity with ISO/IEC 15288 and IEEE 1220 Systems Engineering standardsExperience in Verification and Validation (test planning/PICO/FAT/SAT/SIT) would be an assetKnowledge of identification and management of project risksUnderstanding of the System Safety Certification processes and RAMS standardsKnowledge of CENELEC standards and Metrolinx Schedule 29 is an assetUnderstanding of Requirements Management (RM) and usage of RM tools such as IBM Rational DOORS will be an assetBasic knowledge of Civil design, Signaling principles, SCADA, Communications, Trackwork, Systems Assurance (RAM), Safety Assurance, Vehicle and Wayside Interfaces, Traction Power Design, Power Supply and Distribution, Mechanical, System and Train Simulation, Tunnel’s, and Fire Life Safety Systems will be an assetStrong computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and VisioStrong communication skills, presentation skills, and report writing skillsPreferred experience:Involvement in systems integration for transit or rail extension projects, ideally under a progressive or alternative delivery modelFamiliarity with Requirements Management and Integration using tools like IBM DOORSFamiliarity with Metrolinx Design Standards and Design Manuals is an assetKnowledge of transit-related subsystems including:SCADA, Communications, Signaling, RAMS, Traction Power, Fire Life Safety, and Building Electrical/MechanicalExperience supporting coordination of Verification and Validation (V&V) efforts, including test plan development and readiness reviewsUnderstanding of T&C readiness and risk of interface conflicts, design assumptions, or construction constraintsAbout UsWSP est l’une des plus importantes firmes de services professionnels à travers le monde.
