Creative Encounters Coordinator Location: Guelph, Ontario, Canada (N1G 2W1) Division: College of Computational Mathematical and Physical Sciences – CCMPS Office of the Dean. Temporary full-time from 01/05/2026 to 01/04/2028. Position Number: 10918298. Classification: P&M FT- Band 01. Reports to: Manager of Outreach. This position supports the Creative Encounters program, a Network Member of ACTUA, promoting STEM to youth in Guelph and surrounding communities. Responsibilities include leading a team of undergraduate student staff in year-round STEM outreach programming, primarily the two‑month summer day camp, and coordinating after‑school clubs, classroom visits, teacher resources, and STEM workshops. Responsibilities Lead and manage a team for STEM outreach, communications, and curriculum development. Oversee day‑to‑day operations of Creative Encounters’ outreach programming and summer camps, ensuring safe, fun, and engaging experiences for 100+ campers per week. Coordinate after‑school clubs, classroom visits, teacher resources, and STEM workshops during fall and winter terms. Develop and execute a detailed summer plan and budget, including camp themes, schedules, participant registration, marketing, and logistics. Establish strategies and protocols aligned with University of Guelph policies and ACTUA Network best practices. Recruit and hire student staff. Work on campus daily during May–August; hybrid arrangement possible September–April. Qualifications College diploma (undergraduate degree preferred) in STEM, Education, Science Communication or related field, plus related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred additional training in education or business/management. Experience with the development and delivery of STEM‑based programs and/or camp programming for youth. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups and audiences in a youth education role. Track record of producing results in high‑pressure situations and under tight timelines. Strong relationship management, organizational skills, and ability to foster teamwork and collaboration. Valid Standard First Aid training. CPIC criminal records check and vulnerable sector screening mandatory. Valid Province of Ontario Class G driver’s licence. Employee Type: Temporary, Full‑time. Classification: P&M FT- Band 01. Target hiring salary: Minimum up to 96% of midpoint for the salary grade.
