We emphasize professionalism, practicality, and balance in our work and with our clients.We are looking for a motivated litigation lawyer to become an integral member of our growing practice and team.ResponsibilitiesManage and take day-to-day carriage of litigation filesDraft legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, and written argumentsConduct legal researchDevelop legal strategies with clientsAttend hearings, discoveries, and other court or tribunal appearancesQualificationsGraduate of a recognized JD/LLB programLicensed with the Law Society of Ontario and/or the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society1–4 years of relevant experience in a professional law firm setting; experience in corporate and commercial litigation, and real estate litigation is an assetExcellent written and oral advocacy skillsStrong legal research and writing skillsMotivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage multiple issues as they ariseStrong organizational and time management skills; attention to detailExcellent written and verbal communication for a professional audienceCustomer service orientationFamiliarity with the Ontario and Nova Scotia Rules of Civil Procedure and related court practice directionsComfort working in a remote team environmentWhat we will provideA flexible fully remote work arrangementTarget base salary range between $80,000 and $110,000, commensurate with experienceOpportunities for bonus based on annual KPIs or file-by-file profit-sharingPaid vacationTech and hardware to support your workTransparent performance feedbackOpportunities for career developmentYour role in the firmWork directly with the firm’s owner and principal lawyer, a former Bay Street litigator at McCarthy Tétrault LLPCollaborate with the firm’s lawyer-clients as part of our Litigation Support programHow to applyTo apply, please submit your cover letter and CV to Joseph Ur at joe@jsulaw.ca.
