The Maintenance Planner is accountable to the Maintenance Manager to perform duties whose functions include mechanical and electrical installation, modification, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of site equipment, utilities, systems and/or facilities in accordance with established SOPs, GMP guidelines and EH&S policies.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform maintenance procedures according to the established SOP and PM schedule, coordinating parts and service, as required.
  • Coordinate routine maintenance with Operations to ensure that, whenever possible, maintenance work scheduling does not disrupt production scheduling needs.
  • Build & grow existing preventative maintenance program while maintaining a proactive approach to Plant and Equipment maintenance & repair.
  • Determine required parts on each work order in the backlog; verify parts availability and order parts as necessary.
  • Generate material purchase orders and agreed delivery dates.
  • Determine the need for special support equipment and order/schedule as necessary.
  • Determine and control the work order planned start date and “Approved” status.
  • Review completed PMs and update agreed changes to parts list and tasks.
  • Review completed Calibrations.
  • Convert output of maintenance program development to structured work templates.
  • Maintain and update work order/event templates.
  • Track and report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Verify resource requirements and availability before scheduling planned work and determine work orders with appropriate status.
  • Generate and review the schedule with Maintenance leaders to refine details surrounding current conditions and Operation to incorporate operational concerns and limitations.
  • Release all work orders daily for dissemination to the maintenance leads and trades, ensuring all identified resources are assigned to open work orders.
  • Interact daily with Maintenance Leader to ensure schedules are adhered to and modified as necessary.
  • Review completed work orders for recording of required data, planned vs. actual; hours, tools, materials, and safety requirements to identify any required changes or improvements.
  • Maintain an assortment of common spare parts.
  • Coordinate, recommend and/or initiate purchase orders for parts, equipment or spare parts inventory according to Company's purchasing guidelines.
  • Complete and maintain current training and awareness of related legislated codes, EH&S procedures, SOPs and GMP requirements.
  • Ensure that maintenance or repair of Production Equipment, Site Facilities, Systems and Utilities are carried out in a timely manner.
  • Respond to "off hours" emergencies, as required and provide essential services coverage during site shutdowns.

Additional:

  • Follow Environmental, Health and Safety rules/regulations and report any workplace injuries or accidents immediately.
  • Adhere to the policies and guidelines set out in the Alphora Employee Handbook.
  • Responsible for compliance with GMP guidelines and ensuring that all GMPs and SOPs are followed.
  • Work harmoniously with all fellow employees.

Qualifications:

  • Education: College 2-year diploma in engineering or related field.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office functions particularly Excel, Outlook and Word.
  • Experience: Entry-level applicants are encouraged to apply.
  • Must be a team player.
