Overview Harbinger is working with a leading accounting firm in the Haldimand area, providing comprehensive accounting, tax, and advisory services to a diverse range of clients. Our client, a well-established public accounting firm in Simcoe, Ontario, is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of client engagements, provide expertise in Notice to Reader (NTR) financial statements, and contribute to a collaborative and professional office environment. Responsibilities Prepare Notice to Reader (NTR) financial statements and working paper files. Handle bookkeeping assignments, including reconciliations, adjusting entries, and payroll support. Prepare personal (T1) and corporate (T2) income tax returns. Assist with GST/HST filings and other compliance reporting. Support senior staff with engagement files and client deliverables. Maintain accurate client records and ensure compliance with firm and professional standards. Communicate directly with clients in a professional and responsive manner. Qualifications Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 2–4+ years of experience in a public accounting firm. Strong knowledge of NTR financial statements, bookkeeping, and tax compliance (T1/T2). Proficiency with CaseWare, TaxPrep (or similar accounting/tax software), and QuickBooks or related bookkeeping platforms. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must be available to work in-office in Simcoe, Ontario. Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary range of $60,000 – $80,000, based on experience. Comprehensive benefits package.
