PAY:
  • $36- $42 per hour, depending on experience/certification.
  • Benefits after 3 months.
  • Company matching RRSP after one year of employment.

JOB DUTIES:
  • Repair and maintain heavy equipment, including excavators, skid steers, dozers, back-hoe, etc.
  • Take immediate action to rectify any hazardous conditions and report to management.
  • Ensure that all of the tools you work with are in good and safe operating condition.
  • Never allow vehicles or equipment to leave the shop unless they are safe to operate.
  • Have red tags available (see red tag policy) when tools and equipment need repair or are faulty.
  • Ensure that the shop is left in a clean and safe condition at the end of every day.
  • Keep tools neat orderly and safe from theft and misplacement.
  • Once per month inspect the shop fire extinguisher and mark on the tag initials and date.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
  • 421 License (required). Will consider 5 years of heavy truck AND equipment experience without certification.
  • Driver's License Class "G" or better.
  • Be knowledgeable about gasoline engines and vehicles.
  • Be knowledgeable on diesel vehicles and equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance (semi-annual inspections).
  • General truck, trailer, equipment repairs, and assets.

ABILITIES REQUIRED:
  • Recognize and follow occupational hazards and standard safety precautions.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more.
  • Able to work efficiently with little supervision.

GENERAL:
  • The mechanic will report to the EYM.
  • Day shift position.
