Senior Analyst, Products

Location: This position will be based out of our Winnipeg office.

The opportunity:

Reporting to the Associate Vice-President, Managed Programs & Products, the Senior Analyst will be responsible for supporting the various managed programs and investment products at Wellington-Altus.

Key responsibilities include:

Relationship Management
  • Maintaining relationships with asset managers and product issuers, serving as the principal liaison.
  • Coordinating and conducting manager due diligence interviews.
  • Assisting in the design and promotion of customized portfolio strategies.
  • Serving as the primary contact for product-related support needs.
  • Supporting advisor teams through the development of KYP collateral.
Product Approval
  • Reviewing requests for new products from advisor teams.
  • Conducting preliminary product screening and due diligence.
  • Maintaining the Approved Product List.
  • Conducting book reviews for transitioning advisors.
Product Due Diligence
  • Conducting independent analysis on investment strategies.
  • Participating in key initiatives for the Managed Programs & Investment Products team.
  • Assisting in the creation of product research reports and recommendations.
  • Conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis on investment products.
Ongoing Monitoring & Reporting
  • Implementing performance monitoring of the Wellington-Altus product shelf.
  • Establishing a framework for performance reporting approvals.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or similar field.
  • A minimum of 4+ years’ relevant work experience in the financial services/investment industry.
  • Chartered Financial Analyst or Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst designation.
  • Proficiency with MSOffice suite and experience using investment performance databases.
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and communication skills.
  • A high attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with stakeholders.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit with a willingness to learn.

Conditions of employment:

  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
  • Must be able to travel within Canada 0-5% of the time.
  • A background check may be required of the successful applicant.
