What you will do:
This position reports to the Director of Éducation inclusive au secondaire. As a Learning Specialist in the Programmes de compétences essentielles (PCE), you will work with a dynamic team to help high school students acquire the skills they need to succeed in their life and career plans.

The successful candidate must be familiar with current research on best practices in career education, effective transition, comprehensive and academic guidance, personalized learning and support for students with diverse needs. The incumbent will also need to communicate with EECD's Francophone sector, the Department of Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour (PETL), school districts and staff of post-secondary institutions, as well as with community partners and stakeholders, offer advice on high-yield instructional practices for students with diverse needs, and organize professional development workshops, where appropriate, on the above-mentioned new programs they are responsible for developing as part of the pilot project and implementation phase.

Day-to-day work will involve supervising the activities of the PCE/PCEMT programs, designing and delivering training courses for teachers, collaborating with our institutional partners, and participating in the development of new educational programs, among other things.

Although this position is located in Fredericton, travel will be required from time to time to support employee and team initiatives across the province.

  • Monitor and evaluate activities linked to PCE/PCEMT programs, ensuring their continuous improvement.
  • Design and deliver training courses for teachers and school administrators responsible for PCE (PCR)/PCEMT (PCRMT).
  • Manage PCRMT and PCR pilot projects in participating schools and provide support and training for teachers involved.
  • Participate in meetings and gatherings, thus contributing to reflection and continuous improvement of educational practices.
  • Contribute to the drafting of new programs and the design of teaching materials and management tools.
  • Contribute to the implementation of PCR and PCRMT.
  • Cooperate on various files and projects related to experiential learning.

Need to have:

  • A master's degree in Education and a minimum of six (6) years' teaching experience in an inclusive K?12 public education system OR a bachelor's degree in Education and a minimum of seven (7) years' related experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Knowledge of spoken and written French is required. Please specify your language skills.

Wage:
Pay Band 7: $88,712 to $107,328 annually

Work environment:

  • Office location: 250 King Street, Fredericton. Telework in New Brunswick supported.
  • Enclosed office.
  • Team of about 20 professionals. The team works closely with the entire Francophone education sector.
  • Standard hours of work: Monday to Friday, 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
