Our client is actively seeking a Senior Corporate Accountant and undertake a broad range of accounting duties for their corporate entities. This role goes beyond traditional bookkeeping; it involves actively contributing to the financial strategy and health of the company.

Responsibilities

  • Manage comprehensive corporate accounting activities to uphold accuracy and ensure compliance with financial policies.
  • Conduct detailed monthly accounting procedures including reconciliations of bank statements and credit card transactions.
  • Efficiently handle and process utility invoices, and maintain rigorous records and timely payments of non-AP utility invoices.
  • Analyze, track, and manage utility expenses to aid in strategic financial planning and decision-making.
  • Facilitate and prepare inter-company billings and reconciliations, ensuring transparency and accuracy in transactions.
  • Ensure the preparation and filing of accurate HST returns and compliance with all audit and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate on the preparation of financial statements and support audit processes with necessary documentation and responses.
  • Administer payroll remittances and compliance with regulatory requirements, while supporting various administrative duties to ensure operational continuity.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • CPA designation or in progress.
  • 4-6 years of accounting experience, preferably in public accounting or real estate/asset management.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and quick tech adaptation.
  • Curiosity for business metrics and financial performance.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and process orientation.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced settings.
  • Proficiency in Yardi or similar real estate ERP preferred.
