We host Eclipse Software Defined Vehicle, Jakarta EE, Eclipse IDE, Eclipse ThreadX, Sparkplug, Eclipse IoT and over 400 open source projects, including runtimes, tools, specifications, and frameworks for enterprise, cloud, edge, automotive, AI, embedded, IoT, systems engineering, open processor designs, and many others. Supported by over 360 members globally, the Eclipse Foundation has an established international reach and reputation.

This role is dedicated to supporting the Software Defined Vehicle (SDV) Working Group, which is the world’s leading automotive open source community focused on building an open technology platform for the future of software-defined vehicles. Eclipse SDV aims to accelerate innovation in automotive-grade in-car software stacks, relevant Cloud services, and required toolchains through open source and open specifications. Since its founding in March 2022, the working group has grown to 55 members and 27 active projects with significant further growth anticipated.

The Role

As a Senior Product Marketing Manager, you'll spearhead efforts to elevate awareness and adoption of our open source initiatives within the automotive industry. Collaborating closely with community members, you will shape and execute global business and marketing strategies. We are looking for a candidate with proven software product marketing experience, a knack for community building, and familiarity with open source and automotive technologies. Reporting to the Head of Outreach and Engagement, you'll work alongside community and marketing managers for other key Eclipse initiatives.

The successful candidate will be a friendly, open-minded, and self-motivated professional who strives for excellence, with a proven ability to collaborate with a variety of technical and business stakeholders and team members. This position requires a global outlook, attention to detail, relationship building, and exceptional project management skills.

  2. Collaborate with program and community managers and their respective working group steering and marketing committees on the development of the annual program plan, and the associated annual marketing plan consistent with the implementation of their prioritised initiatives.
  3. Define, implement, and execute joint marketing programs with our member companies to promote the Eclipse SDV value proposition and secure broad industry adoption of Eclipse SDV technologies.
  4. Work with the community and marketing team to define, implement, and promote programs and create assets that encourage open collaboration within and across the automotive and SDV ecosystems. Assets and programs to include videos, articles, tutorials, webinars, survey reports, case studies, member success stories, and other content as deemed appropriate.
  5. Define compelling positioning, messaging, and value propositions to drive Eclipse SDV membership and community growth.

  8. Promote and support the Foundation’s presence at developer conferences and industry events. As required, assist with event planning, including working with event coordinators, and design teams for booth designs and on-site collateral. Attend both virtual and in-person events as needed.
  9. Work with Sales, Business Development, and other internal teams to develop and implement programs for recruiting and retaining working group members.
  10. Work with the community to promote project releases and associated deliverables including website, marketplace, documentation, marketing materials, testimonials and social media content.
  11. Identify and engage with automotive software industry influencers via social media and enable them to promote Eclipse Foundation Automotive and SDV projects.
