Applicants Will Be Considered In The Following Order:

Reporting to the Principal, this position is responsible for supporting the activities of the administrative staff in duties related to the day-to-day operation of the school.

The successful applicant for this Educational Support Staff position Level E will work 35 hours per week, 10 months per year, effective August 19, 2024.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain good public relations;
  • Establish and implement efficient office procedures;
  • Receive and initiate communication at the school;
  • Liaise with staff at other schools and the Education Centre;
  • Monitor school budgets and accounts, compile staffing and enrolment statistics, monthly enrolment reports;
  • Create P.O. requisitions and track orders in K212;
  • Prepare, check and submit school data;
  • Maintain and update the Aspen Student Information system;
  • Support the vision, philosophy and procedures of the school;
  • Interact effectively with the students, staff, and parents in a positive and confident manner;
  • Complete any other duties assigned by the principal.

Qualifications:

  • Secondary School Graduation Diploma is required;
  • Experience using the Aspen Student Information System and applying this knowledge to record keeping and maintaining data integrity, particularly within elementary achievement (report card process) and Incident Tracker (student suspensions) is required;
  • Proven strong organizational and time management skills;
  • Experience and knowledge of School-Day and Google Docs is required;
  • Experience and knowledge of K212 is an asset;
  • Experience with G-Suite is required;
  • Excellent computer and word processing skills;
  • Experience in using Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel in a Windows computer environment is required;
  • Experience and familiarity with ONSIS is preferred;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with students, co-workers, teachers, and the public;
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a member of the administrative team of the school;
  • Ability to complete assigned duties with minimal supervision;
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms;
  • Proven ability to take initiative, work independently, and make decisions as appropriate;
  • Ability to exercise a high level of confidentiality and discretion;
  • Keen attention to detail and ability to multitask;
  • Elementary Head Secretary school experience would be an asset.
