Position Title: Fire Alarm Technician

As a member of an experienced team, the Fire Alarm Technician will be responsible for providing superior customer service in a fast paced environment. The ideal candidate is a professional, customer-oriented individual with strong problem-solving abilities and technical skills. We are looking for an enthusiastic team player who focuses on safety and customer satisfaction.

 

Responsibilities

· Fire alarm system commissioning and verification

· Fire alarm system inspection and preventive maintenance

· Identify, trouble-shoot and correct fire alarm system technical problems

· Complete site inspection and verification reports in a timely manner

· Participate in 24-hour on-call emergency response service

· Participate in the Canadian Fire Alarm Association technician program

· Perform responsibilities in accordance with CAN/ULC standards for fire alarm systems

· Follow and participate in safety and ISO quality standards

· Travel within HRM and Atlantic Canada as required

 

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

· Certified electronics technician or equivalent experience

· Canadian Fire Alarm Association (CFAA) registration would be an asset

· Proficient with computers and various software applications such as Windows, MS Word

· Ability to work independently and in a team environment

· Excellent time management and organizational skills

· Strong communication and customer service skills

· Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety safe work practices

· Valid Driver’s License and satisfactory driving record

· Criminal background check required

· Ability to attain Security Clearance
