Your responsibility is to help the business solve problems and make informed decisions using large, complex data sets. This role involves ensuring Watercare has access to quality and secure data, growing our dataset in line with business requirements, identifying and migrating new data sources, improving data collection methods, and enhancing data quality analysis and reporting processes. You will drive data quality and stewardship by evaluating internal systems for efficiency, identifying problems and inaccuracies, and developing protocols for handling, processing, and cleaning data. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver effective solutions, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Experience with one or more ETL tools, e.g. ADF, Talend, Step functions, etc.
- Advanced SQL knowledge and experience working with databases, query authoring, and a variety of databases, e.g. SQL Server, Redshift, PostgreSQL.
- Scripting skills in SQL and Python.
- Familiarity with cloud environments, i.e. AWS/Azure.
- Recognised and relevant technology industry qualifications.
- Experience working in agile methodology.
- Implement best practices for ETL/Data Engineering processes and Database management.
- Experience working on Data lakes.
- Understanding of CI/CD deployment principles.
