As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in driving data-driven decision making at Watercare Services Limited. You will lead the implementation of our Data and Analytics strategy, delivering timely and impactful insights that inform key business decisions.

You will be responsible for developing and implementing best practices and governance to ensure the accuracy, availability, and cost-effectiveness of our analytics and insights.

This is a dynamic role that requires strong technical and people leadership skills, a passion for staying on top of the latest technology and industry developments, and a commitment to driving continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Mentor and manage a high-performing team to support development and growth.
  • Develop data literacy and skills across the business, particularly in PowerBI.
  • Support a collaborative team culture that drives engagement and achieves business, personal, and professional development objectives.

Experience/Technical/Professional Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of professional work experience in analytics and insights, including data science.
  • 5+ years of experience with Python or Scala development.
  • Familiarity with recognized and relevant technology industry qualifications.
  • Solid experience as a member of agile teams collaborating with other engineers, product managers, UX professionals, architects, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong programming experience, including Python, script automation, and database languages.
Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes
  • Sound problem-solving skills.
  • Able to assess priorities and self-manage.
  • Has a 'can-do' approach and attitude.
  • Enthusiastic about technology and driven to achieving solutions and resolving problems at a pace.
  • Good appreciation of the need to follow established processes but willing to challenge them for valid reasons and better options.
  • Experience in Snowflake.
  • Scripting skills - advanced SQL knowledge and experience working with databases, query authoring, and working knowledge of various databases, e.g., SQL Server, Redshift, PostgreSQL.
  • 5+ years of experience with SQL.
  • Experience using project management tools like Jira, Trello, Asana, etc.
  • Troubleshooting skills, ability to determine impacts, ability to resolve complex issues, and ability to exercise sound judgment and initiative in stressful situations.
