Position: Injection Mold Set-up Tech - Night Shift - Whitby

Job Type: Permanent

Education:

  1. Completion of Grade 12 or practical experience in a related industry is required
  2. Experience in a plastic injection manufacturing environment
  3. 2 yrs+ experience in a set-up role is required
  4. Demonstrated knowledge of forklift, scissor lift and crane operation
  5. Solid communication skills – written and verbal
  6. Knowledge of Health & Safety practices in a plant environment
  7. Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  8. Good attendance and safety record
  9. Willing and able to work outlined shift schedule as required

Duties / Responsibilities:

  1. Identify and install molds into injection molding machines
  2. Ensure the start-up process is as per product specifications and procedures
  3. Submit good quality parts to quality control and minimize set-up time in an efficient way while ensuring safety
  4. Meet or exceed daily planned event schedule and departmental objectives
  5. Set-up tooling and start-up process competently and safely
  6. Set-up complete tooling assembly on designated machines
  7. Contribute to plant cost reduction efforts
  8. Ensure all machine set-ups/start-ups are in accordance with the company and relevant quality standards before turning over to production
  9. Monitor quality of output during set-up or start-up, and take appropriate action, including shutdown of process, to prevent or limit faulty set-ups
  10. Identify and repair minor tooling problems associated with set-up
  11. Operate forklift and lifting devices to position mold or tooling during set-up and repair of mold
