About the Role


Our Markham office has an immediate opening for a full-time, on-site role as a BIM Coordinator / BIM Modeler to join our team to help us maintain our momentum. We are looking for an enthusiastic team member with strong technical knowledge in all aspects of BIM/CAD, specifically Revit. The BIM Coordinator / BIM Modeler will be responsible for coordinating BIM projects, utilizing architectural and MEP (Mechanical Electrical and Plumbing) knowledge, and collaborating with project managers and other team members. The role involves creating and maintaining BIM documentation, managing BIM libraries, conducting clash detection, and assisting in the coordination and integration of BIM models. Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing piping systems, mechanical equipment, mechanical room layout, lighting and electrical models are essential requirements of this role.


Preference will be given to applicants with practical experience related to any of the following:

  • 3-5 years experience with working knowledge of Revit.
  • Knowledge of construction industry standards and codes.


Qualifications & Requirements:

  • BIM Coordination and Building Information Modeling (BIM) skills
  • Architecture and MEP (Mechanical Electrical and Plumbing) knowledge
  • Project management skills
  • Experience in coordinating BIM projects and conducting clash detection
  • Proficiency in BIM software (Revit) and tools
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Post-secondary education in a subject related to Building Information Modelling Program (BIM), Architecture, Mechanical or Electrical building service program, or a related field with relevant work experience.
  • Familiar with building sector services such as plumbing systems, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, lighting, power and systems and communication is preferred.
  • Initiative, willingness, and ability to accept responsibility.
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Highly organized, flexible and can work necessary hours in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English


Key Responsibilities:

  • Model and/or design for MEP disciplines. Prepares drawing packages, including plans, layouts, schematics, and detailed scale drawings in compliance with company and client standards. When required, produce schematic drawings and identify sizing requirements.
  • Produce and/or modify a BIM (Building Information Model) from sketches, mark-ups and/or designs as the project team requires to suit design requirements, consultant changes, scope changes and/or general updates.
  • Review models against markups to ensure the accuracy of work in the three-dimensional model and resultant two-dimensional drawings.
  • Collaborate/communicate with other disciplines’ design changes and model challenges.
  • Populate and maintain the parametric database within a model as needed to meet design requirements.
  • Identify and discuss interferences or space issues with the project team for resolution and change implementation. This may include three-dimensional analysis using Revit or other software such as Navisworks.
  • Prepare submissions for issuance, plotting and archives.
  • Control and maintain models in an organized manner in the appropriate project directory system, as per company standards.
  • Coordinate and prioritize multiple projects in a deadline-oriented environment.
  • Review layouts of mechanical or electrical services for interferences with major building elements such as structure, ceilings, walls, etc.
  • Any other BIM tasks required to assist in the completion of working drawings.
