YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the Human Resources Superintendent you will be part of the Human Resources Department. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about connecting individuals with apprenticeship opportunities and supporting them throughout their journey. The Apprenticeship Training Specialist will work on our Skills Development Funded project. You will work closely with a team of staff who support the training and development of new workers, current workers, and apprentices. Your primary role is to promote the apprenticeship path to the general public, and support apprentices and departments with the apprenticeship registration process. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

  • Work with the Community Relations and Recruitment Team to promote apprenticeship opportunities within the Mining industry to various schools and educational settings;
  • Work with the Community Relations and Recruitment Team to manage relationships with the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP) and facilitate pre-apprenticeship transfers into our program;
  • Represent the Apprenticeship Programs at Skills Ontario events, Trade Fairs, information sessions, and community engagement activities;
  • Lead the apprenticeship registration process, including employer registrations;
  • Submit applications to the Ministry of Labour, Immigration Training and Skills Development (MLITSD) portal and facilitate apprentice applications;
  • Guide participants through the apprenticeship application process, including portal login and document submission;
  • Ensure all necessary documentation, including Training Agreements and Registered Training Agreements (RTAs), are completed accurately and submitted on time;
  • Facilitate the signing of Training Agreements with apprentice candidates and ensure RTAs are issued promptly;
  • Facilitate Training with registered apprentices and their respective department and immediate Supervisor;
  • Assist with ensuring Skills Development Fund (SDF) forms are complete, accurate, and submitted in a timely manner;
  • Generate reports as required to track apprenticeship registrations, participant progress, and program outcomes;
  • Assist with the Apprenticeship Incentive Grant (AI) programs;
  • Coordinate with departments and the MLITSD to facilitate the distribution of apprenticeship incentives;
  • Explore additional opportunities and support available to the Apprenticeship Program.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
  • Previous experience in apprenticeship recruitment, enrollment, or related field;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with participants, schools, and industry partners;
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively;
  • Knowledge of apprenticeship programs and processes, including Training Agreements and RTAs, is an asset;
  • Proficiency in MS Office and database management;
  • Valid driver's licence and access to a vehicle;
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Flexibility to travel to various program locations as needed;
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness and problem-solving skills;
  • Detail oriented and demonstrated a strong work ethic;
  • Ability to think creatively and take initiative;
  • Demonstrated coaching skills;
  • Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.

YOUR WORK SCHEDULE:

  • Schedule: 4/3 schedule at our Detour Lake Mine;
  • Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
