The Opportunity:

We are looking for a self-motivated and enthusiastic Senior Electrical Technologist to join our Calgary office. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, work well individually and in a team, have exceptional organizational skills, meet deadlines, maintain high standards, and pay attention to detail. Effective communication is crucial due to client liaison requirements.

What you will do:

  • Develop single line diagrams, prepare designs, calculations, plans, and specifications
  • Assist in developing reports and specifications
  • Participate in project support activities, internal/external design meetings, and assist in various design disciplines
  • Provide mentorship to junior staff, perform quality control, and construction administration
  • Other duties as assigned

What we are looking for:

Qualifications, Experience, and Education:

  • Electrical Engineering Degree or Certified Electrical Technologist Diploma
  • 10+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering Consulting
  • Knowledge and experience with ETAP, AutoCAD, BIM/Revit, AGI32, Visual
  • Excellent organizational, computer, and communication skills
  • Registered or ability to become registered with ASET or APEGA
  • Flexibility, verbal and written communication skills

Required Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of Canadian Engineering standards
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, energy markets, alternative energy technology, etc.
  • Design experience in high and low voltage, uninterruptable power systems, lighting calculations, communication infrastructure, etc.
  • Knowledge in Security and A/V systems is an asset
  • Building and Infrastructure evaluation
