Ware Malcomb has an exciting opportunity in our Vaughan or Toronto office for a Director, Architecture to join our senior leadership team The Director is a key member of the Ware Malcomb senior management team responsible for leading design, growth, revenue, profitability, staff management, and client relationships for the Toronto architecture market. Your role involves fostering a positive, team-oriented environment and ensuring the achievement of our business objectives. This includes spearheading the growth of our architecture group by enhancing design, meeting financial targets, mentoring existing team members, and expanding our practice.

Director, Architecture Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee finances, business development, operations, and team member management of the Architecture group.
  2. Take overall responsibility for ensuring all proposals and contracts (client and consultant) are in place.
  3. Review and sign off on all project budget reports before contract execution.
  4. Be responsible for the group's organizational charts and conduct a continuous review of office forecasts, financials, and current/future staffing needs with the Region's operations manager.
  5. Overall responsibility for the operations of the Architecture group, in collaboration with the Operations Manager.
  6. Ensure the positive culture, morale and general wellbeing of the team.
  7. Review monthly project revenue projections and provide necessary weekly updates.
  8. Prepare a monthly business report and participate in monthly meetings.
  9. Responsible for business development and client relationships to increase market share and win work.
  10. Attend business development and networking functions.
  11. Set up regular networking meetings with client and industry contacts.
  12. Utilize Ware Malcomb CRM system to track all business development activity.
  13. Review groups workload scheduled.
  14. Attend scheduling meetings.
  15. Proactively manage any/all project liability issues.
  16. Stay connected to the team with reoccurring scheduled meetings and communication.
  17. Collaborate with Ware Malcomb Talent Acquisition team to recruit new team members.
Director, Architecture Requirements:
  1. 10+ years of experience within the field of Architecture.
  2. Experience in a leadership role.
  3. Experience developing and maintaining client relationships.
  4. Extensive experience managing diverse projects.
  5. Ability to lead and foster a positive team environment.
  6. Bachelor's Degree in Architecture.
