Main Duties and Competencies

The Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Program Lead provides guidance and coaching to the program team. The I&C Program Lead is a senior member of the engineering leadership team and reports to the I&C Department Lead. Key duties include:

  1. Lead a team of I&C Engineers/Specialists and designers for a Sustainable program or multiple projects at a time
  2. Be responsible as a senior Technical resource, Checker, and Consultant for the I&C department
  3. Provide technical guidance and mentor intermediate/junior engineers in their day-to-day activities
  4. Review client’s scope documents, seek clarifications on I&C scope, and provide detailed I&C man-hour estimations for the proposals
  5. Coordinate with Project management team to align I&C activities with the agreed project schedule and client’s expectations
  6. Review/check I&C deliverables including datasheets, sizing calculations, MR packages, and Control drawing/deliverables
  7. Assist in preparation of cost estimates for I&C bids and proposal work
  8. Provide I&C inputs to the detailed scope of work, design basis documents, and project execution plan
  9. Represent I&C team to the client and be responsible for meeting client’s expectations
  10. Steer review sessions for I&C deliverables with different project stakeholders including client’s operations/project team
  11. Perform other duties as requested
Requirements

Ten (10) years or more of experience in Instrumentation and Controls in the Oil and Gas Industry
CET minimum required or P Eng. (preferred)
Leadership experience demonstrated in Instrumentation and Controls in past projects
Strong analytical skills and communication skills (oral and written)
Strong ability to coordinate all Instrumentation and Controls work with multi-disciplinary teams including Process, Mechanical, Civil/Structural, Electrical, and CAD support
Strong understanding of the project management methodologies
Capable of providing Engineering estimates
Ability to work within a diverse team environment
