Since 1982, we have operated with a strong commitment to integrity, honesty, and genuine care for our clients and colleagues. We specialize in delivering tailored insurance and risk management solutions to knowledge‑based industries across Canada, leveraging deep expertise in select sectors to help our clients build resilient, confident organizations. Our purpose is simple: to ensure our clients feel informed, supported, and secure in their decisions. We take pride in being responsive when it matters most and in building long‑term, one‑on‑one advisory relationships that position PROLINK as a trusted partner and advocate. Key Responsibilities As a Risk Advisor within our Engineering & Designers Practice, you will play a key role in expanding PROLINK’s national presence among progressive engineering and design firms. You will work with an established client base while actively developing new relationships, positioning yourself as a trusted advisor to organizations navigating complex professional, contractual, and operational risks. By developing deep knowledge of the engineering and design sector, you will advise clients on a broad range of property and casualty (P&C) insurance solutions and risk management strategies. What differentiates PROLINK is our consultative approach: we go beyond transactional brokerage to deliver thoughtful, strategic advice grounded in industry insight and long‑term value. You will also contribute to PROLINK’s thought leadership by supporting the development of articles, tools, and insights that address emerging risk and insurance issues relevant to the design community. As part of the broader Commercial Enterprise team, you will collaborate closely with colleagues across multiple industry practices. This includes participation in: Bi‑monthly Enterprise team meetings to share insights and best practices; Weekly sales and business development meetings focused on opportunity management and cross‑practice collaboration; and Regular check‑ins with the Account Management team to support renewals and client service excellence. Provide strategic insurance and risk management advice designed to strengthen clients’ overall resilience. For mid‑market clients, this includes delivering PROLINK’s proprietary Panoramic Risk Assessment, aligning insurance programs and risk controls with each client’s broader business objectives. Educate current and prospective clients on their risk exposures and recommend appropriate insurance and risk management solutions that address their evolving needs. Lead business development efforts for the Engineering & Designers Practice, with the long‑term objective of building a national practice and team that reflects PROLINK’s differentiated value proposition and consultative approach. In support of this, PROLINK uses a unique Broker of Record‑led business development model, allowing relationships to begin with value rather than price. You will receive training in this approach, incorporating modern sales methodologies and behavioural science principles. Develop and execute a business plan for the engineering and design segment, including annual targets and long‑term growth strategy. Embrace and apply PROLINK’s consultative business development methodology, engaging prospects at a strategic level and clearly articulating the value roadmap we deliver. Build strong relationships with clients and prospects to understand their: Business strategies, challenges, and risk exposures; Risk management and mitigation approaches; and How insurance and PROLINK’s expertise can support their objectives. Attend industry conferences and events to strengthen market presence, expand networks, and stay current on sector trends. Collaborate with senior management and colleagues to deliver optimal client solutions and enhance win rates. Identify opportunities to cross‑sell and refer clients to other PROLINK practices, as appropriate. Participate in the client renewal process alongside the Practice Leader and Account Management team. Serve as a subject‑matter resource on industry trends, insurance solutions, and emerging risks affecting engineering and design firms. Demonstrate responsiveness and advocacy, ensuring clients feel supported during urgent situations. Oversee or participate in claims advocacy as required. Ensure accurate, timely billing and collection within established timelines. Contribute to the development of risk management tools, white papers, webinars, and thought leadership content. Maintain accurate and current records in CRM and broker management systems. Act as a positive corporate citizen by: Collaborating effectively across Commercial, Personal, and Life & Benefits teams; Treating colleagues with respect and accountability; Building strong partnerships with insurers and underwriters; Demonstrating care, professionalism, and a willingness to go above and beyond for clients and partners. Qualifications The ideal candidate will meet most of the following criteria: Licensing & Education – RIBO license required. Professional presence with strong communication skills. Positive, empathetic, and engaging personality with a desire to continuously learn and share knowledge. Benefits Competitive and flexible compensation structure. Comprehensive medical and dental benefits effective on your first day. Hybrid work environment combining remote and in‑office flexibility. A culture that blends the professionalism of a national firm with the collaboration and care of a close‑knit team. Clear opportunities for career growth, recognition, and advancement. The opportunity to become an owner in the firm alongside many of your colleagues. At PROLINK, diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility are integral to who we are.
