You will be accountable for pads spanning several of these properties.

What you’ll do:

  2. Coordinate performance evaluations on assigned base pads and mentor less experienced staff on base pads. This includes production comparisons to forecasts, tracking recovery vs time and sharing knowledge of key observations and findings.
  3. Develop and history match models to understand and forecast pad performance to identify and evaluate potential benefit optimization opportunities.
  4. Evaluate redrill opportunities on assigned operating pads and develop forecasts and economic evaluations in support of those candidates.
  5. Identify and progress studies and field trials to continuously optimize performance in support of operating strategy advancement and technology progression.
  6. Continuously refine standards and influence best practices for the broader thermal reservoir community.
  7. Represent the Reservoir Optimization team on multi-discipline task-forces to identify and progress opportunities to improve our operational and financial performance.

Who you are:

  2. Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) accredited with APEGA or other Provincial Professional Organization is required.
  3. 12+ years of oil & gas industry experience is required.
  4. Preference for candidates with a minimum 5 years SAGD thermal experience or other enhanced oil recovery experience in a subsurface role (e.g., reservoir, exploitation, or production engineering).
  5. Advanced skills in Reservoir Technical Proficiencies with depth of knowledge of multiple subsurface subject areas.
  6. Solid understanding of reservoir simulation (Cenovus Sapsim, CMG STARS, SLB Intersect, or an equivalent thermal simulation software package) is an asset.
  7. Experience programming in one or more languages (Python, R, VBA, Matlab, C++, SQL, etc.) is an asset.
  8. Proven record to work collaboratively in a team environment and ability to influence others without formal authority.
