Senior Reservoir Engineer

Strathcona Resources Ltd is seeking an experienced Senior Reservoir Engineer to join our team in Calgary. As a key member of our technical team, you will play a crucial role in the subsurface reservoir engineering, well planning, and well forecasting for our undeveloped thermal assets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement reservoir engineering strategies to optimize asset performance
  • Lead activities evaluating field development strategies and reservoir management plans
  • Propose strategies and opportunities to sustain and improve reservoir performance
  • Support development of Strathcona's in-situ undeveloped bitumen assets
  • Communicate effectively with key stakeholders and establish relationships with Production, Operations, Geosciences, and Development teams
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering or relevant field
  • 10 years of related industry experience directly involved with reservoir engineering aspects of thermal projects, preferably SAGD
  • Track record of creativity and innovation in generating and implementing reservoir engineering solutions
  • Excellent analytical, integration, and project management capabilities
  • Demonstrated experience in SAGD surveillance, field development planning, and forecasting
  • Experience with PVT and Solvent SAGD, and special core analysis
  • Familiarity with Python coding skills
  • Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Legally authorized to work full-time in Canada without restrictions
