We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Facilities Manager to join our team in the retail village at Britannia Beach. This key role offers a unique opportunity to work in a restored company mining town, now featuring 20,000 square feet of retail space, and 14 residential rental units providing housing for Village employees. The successful candidate will oversee the maintenance, security, and operational aspects of this outdoor retail environment in the Sea-to-Sky Corridor, working closely with tenants, staff, and contractors to maintain a high standard of service, safety, and customer satisfaction. If you're a dependable, hands-on leader who enjoys problem-solving and would thrive in a dynamic, outdoor setting, this is the ideal position for you.

  • Full-time, permanent
  • March 1, 2025 start date
  • Five days per week, schedule to be discussed

Skills and Qualifications Required:

  • Ability to perform basic repair and maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical work, painting, and carpentry

Responsibilities:

Operational Management:

  • Oversee the smooth operation and maintenance of all facilities within the Village, ensuring everything is functioning optimally.
  • Provide and coordinate security to ensure the safety of tenants, shoppers, and the Village.
  • Be responsible for all risk management including regular inspections, preventative maintenance, safety protocols, and emergency response plans for the Village and its customers.
  • Coordinate with third-party contractors to quickly address and resolve any repair needs or issues beyond in-house capabilities. Manage all third-party service and repair contracts and oversee all third-party service and repair contractors/vendors.
  • Assist with the onsite preparation for promotional events, seasonal activities, and community engagement programs.
  • Provide ideas and strategies to the Village owners to maximize occupancy and revenue.

Customer Service:

  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by addressing shopper inquiries and complaints.
  • Maintain a clean and welcoming environment for shoppers and tenants.
  • Provide customer feedback to Village owners to improve services and amenities.

Tenant Relations:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for commercial and residential tenants, addressing their needs and concerns.
  • Organize tenant meetings to discuss safety and security and Village operations.
  • Perform prospective tenant orientations

Staff Management: _

  • Supervise any Britannia Village staff, including security and maintenance personnel, that may be required during busy periods or for relief.
  • Schedule staff shifts and ensure adequate coverage at all times.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative working environment.

Maintenance and Repair Duties: _

  • Perform all minor maintenance repairs, electrical, paint, plumbing in a timely fashion.
  • Ensure that the Britannia Village common washrooms are constantly (depending on Village traffic) inspected and kept immaculately clean and fully supplied.
  • Oversee preventative maintenance, unscheduled repairs, and troubleshooting of all equipment.
  • Complete daily and weekly inspections of the interior and exterior property, all common areas, mechanical and electrical rooms, and fire safety requirements, and coordinate corrective action for deficiencies immediately.
  • Ensure all areas of the Village are safe and clean.
  • Maintain building supply inventories.
  • Maintain access control and key control systems.
  • Ensure maintenance schedules are maintained.
  • Be on-call for emergencies and other assigned duties (cell phone provided).
