We are on a mission to inspire and educate.About YouYou have a deep understanding of the computer science education landscape in Ontario. You can speak to the strengths, weaknesses and pain points that current high school computer science teachers and students are facing and help with offering solutions and strategies. You are well versed in modern tech concepts, including mobile development and AI. You have worked as part of the Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) program. You have experience building and delivering lesson plans for early and late secondary computer science classes and can demonstrate your experience fostering 21st century skills. You enjoy detail-driven organization, flexible collaboration and have an understanding of how and where to market to teachers and school boards. You thrive working on a small, start-up team where you will be expected to work around your regular schedule to meet Swift Kids deadlines, and comfortable working with short deadlines on occasion.About The RoleAs the Consultant, Education - Computer Science you will support the product development and marketing teams at Swift Kids. You are a current, or former high school computer science teacher. This position reports to the Owner. This is a part-time role and may require work on weekends and outside of regular office hours.Responsibilities Include:Managing Monthly Tech Teacher Newsletter: Stay on top of topical tech and education news and create content for our monthly tech teacher newsletter, draft newsletter, help market newsletter and increase sign ups.Support Product Development: Review and provide feedback on Swift Kids courses and content from the perspective of a tech educator. Assist with development of new programs, based on knowledge of the Ontario education system.Content Creation: Develop learning tools, resources and hand outs appropriate for secondary computer science classes.Support Marketing: Collaborate with the marketing team, offer your perspective and insight on our target market.Qualifications & ExperienceOCT CertificationExperience as a current, or former high school computer science teacherExperience with and thorough understanding of the SHSM program, specifically ICT and Business sectorsNice to HavesOur team works primarily with Apple Products (iCloud, iMessage, Numbers, Pages, etc.).
