As part of a dynamic and dedicated team, as the Physical Exercise Specialist, you will have the opportunity to work with a very highly motivated and professional clientele who are eager to return to duty and improve their condition. Daily, you will lead reconditioning programs for Canadian Armed Forces members who may be affected with a medical condition and improve their functional abilities related to their physical limitations.Being a subject matter expert in your field, you will support your local team with training and professional development. You will assist Health Promotion partners promoting healthy practices and injury prevention through initiatives such as educational programs, special events and other activities related to physical fitness.Much like the military we so proudly support, we push the envelope of what’s possible. Working with us, you’ll have the opportunity to deliver programs and services in collaboration with a highly professional team of health services practitioners. Other stakeholders will be at your disposal to ensure a client’s successful return to duty.QUALIFICATIONS NEEDEDEducation, Certifications and LicensesBachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Human Kinetics, Exercise Physiology, Exercise Sciences or in a related fieldCurrent Clinical Exercise Physiologist (CSEP_CEP), or eligibility to obtain it in accordance with CSEP prerequisites and successful completion required by end of probation; CFMWS will provide internal certification opportunityA candidate possessing an equivalent CSEP-CEP certification from the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) may be consideredCurrent CPR and Basic First Aid qualificationsCurrent National Lifeguard Service Certificate (NLS) qualification, as required, or successful completion by end of probationExperienceIn developing, implementing and delivering physical fitness programsIn preparing and conducting physical fitness training sessionsIn communications for professional and public audiencesIn the delivery of adult education and facilitation of workshopsIn applying policies, procedures, and regulationsClient focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadershipLANGUAGE REQUIREMENTSBilingual (English and French) an assetBENEFITS AVAILABLEHealth Benefits: Drug coverage, healthcare spending account, virtual care (telemedicine), Employee and Family Assistance Program, mental health support, travel insurance, dental, vision, life insurance and disability insurance.Work Life Balance: Flexible work options and a wide range of paid/unpaid leave, including paid vacation, family related leave and personal days.Retirement Planning: A Defined Benefit Pension Plan and Group Savings Plans.Learning and Development: Payment of professional association memberships, online learning opportunities including a LinkedIn Learning subscription and second language training.Perks: Discounts through CF One Member Appreciation.As part of the selection process, candidates will undergo a physical fitness test (FORCE Evaluation) and must achieve a minimum level of Bronze.
