Commercial Property Underwriter

Our client is seeking a skilled Commercial Property Underwriter to join their Offer and Acceptance team. This pivotal role involves the new business and renewal underwriting of commercial property risks.
Responsibilities:
- Assess new and renewal business to make informed risk decisions.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop underwriting strategies that foster growth and retention.
- Utilize advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially in Excel and Word, to analyze data and create reports.
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships, enhancing business opportunities.
- Engage in critical evaluation of underwriting data, ensuring efficiency and organization in all tasks.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial underwriting, specifically in property and casualty for small to medium enterprises.
- Proven experience with subscription business models and split rating systems.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on professional relationship building.
- Results-driven approach with a demonstrated ability to meet growth and retention targets.
- Highly organized, efficient, and capable of critical thinking.
- Experience in underwriting various industries such as residential and commercial realty, retail, hospitality, and manufacturing is highly valued.
- Knowledge of program/portfolio underwriting will be considered an asset.
- CIP designation, or currently pursuing CIP credentials, preferred.
