Our client is seeking a skilled Commercial Property Underwriter to join their Offer and Acceptance team. This pivotal role involves the new business and renewal underwriting of commercial property risks.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess new and renewal business to make informed risk decisions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop underwriting strategies that foster growth and retention.
  • Utilize advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially in Excel and Word, to analyze data and create reports.
  • Build and maintain strong professional relationships, enhancing business opportunities.
  • Engage in critical evaluation of underwriting data, ensuring efficiency and organization in all tasks.


Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial underwriting, specifically in property and casualty for small to medium enterprises.
  • Proven experience with subscription business models and split rating systems.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on professional relationship building.
  • Results-driven approach with a demonstrated ability to meet growth and retention targets.
  • Highly organized, efficient, and capable of critical thinking.
  • Experience in underwriting various industries such as residential and commercial realty, retail, hospitality, and manufacturing is highly valued.
  • Knowledge of program/portfolio underwriting will be considered an asset.
  • CIP designation, or currently pursuing CIP credentials, preferred.
