We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Associate to join our Infrastructure Investment Operations team

As a key member of our Investment Finance team, the Senior Associate, Infrastructure, Investment Finance, will be primarily responsible for providing support to the Manager, Infrastructure, Investment Finance, as it pertains to the ongoing operations and administration of the Infrastructure portfolio.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and/or prepare trade tickets for Capital Calls and Distributions.

  • Review valuation reports and models to ensure that appropriate valuations are recognized/recorded and liaise with external vendors to satisfy queries/issues.

  • Review and approve infrastructure investment accounting entries.

  • Reconcile investment level financial statements and information to internal accounting records.

  • Consult with team and lead the implementation of improvements to existing reporting and accounting functions.

  • Lead elements of private market solution implementation, including requirements gathering, solution configuration, data migration and testing/validation.

  • Providing input and supporting testing of private market system implementation/upgrades.

  • Review routine and ad-hoc requests completed by group members.

  • Review and/or prepare financial statement note support and reporting schedules for year-end purposes.

  • Partner with various stakeholders (e.g. Performance, Data, Front Office, etc.,) to ensure quality reporting is produced on a timely basis.

  • Liaise with external clients to meet information and reporting requirements.

  • Leads research and analysis of investment accounting treatments and applies accounting knowledge to potential changes.

  • Special projects and other duties as assigned.

What you need to succeed:

  • A university degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or a related discipline is required. CPA, CFA, and/or CBV designation (or working towards the designation) an asset.

  • 5+ years of experience in investment management, with direct experience working in Investment Finance or Investment Operations. Experience in the asset management industry is preferred.

  • Knowledge of Private Market Investments and Private Market Valuations (Infrastructure, Private Equity and Real Estate) is preferred.

  • Knowledge of IFRS and accounting best practices.

  • Excellent problem-solving and researching skills with a strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to consistently deliver quality outputs in a fast-paced environment, with an ability to work to tight deadlines and the capability to handle multiple projects and ad-hoc requests simultaneously.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with colleagues at all levels and cultivate key partnerships to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to explain complex issues in a clear and compelling manner and present information to internal stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated ability to be proactive and take initiative to understand, support and implement goals and objectives.

  • Experience with system implementation an asset.
